AAPRUBAHAN ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukalang coronavirus disease 2019 testing ng vulnerable sector bago mag-adjourn ang sesyon sa Biyernes.
Ayon kay House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez batay sa House bill 6865 na akda ni Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin ang gastos sa Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing ay sasagutin ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
“As Majority Leader, I am committed to steer the approval of this bill on third reading before our sine die adjournment on Thursday. We need to pass this bill the soonest time possible to contain the spread of COVID-19 after the lifting of lockdown,” ani Romualdez.
Inaprubahan ang HB 6865 o ang Crushing COVID-19 bill sa ikalawang pagbasa noong Lunes. Dahil hindi ito certified urgent ng Malacañang kailangan ng hindi bababa sa tatlong araw bago ito maipasa sa ikatlong pagbasa.
“Not only should PCR testing be made accessible to the vulnerable members of our society. This gold standard of testing should also be made available for free to our essential employees, senior citizens and those with comorbidities,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Sa ilalim ng panukala ang PCR Testing ang magiging protocol sa pagti-testing sa vulnerable sector.
Sinuportahan din ni Garin ang pooled baseline PCR testing na rekomendasyon ng Philippine Society of Pathologists.
Sa ilalim ng pooled PCR testing, pagsasama-samahin ang swab sample ng 10 katao. Kapag nagpositibo ito, ibig sabihin mayroong kabilang sa grupo na may COVID-19.
Tapos hahatiin ang grupo hanggang sa matukoy kung sino sa kanila ang positibo.
“This pooled PCR Testing will be an enhanced wider-based purposive testing designed to test a larger number of the vulnerable members of the society based on robust and scientific epidemiologic data. With this, we will be able to maximize the government resources,” paliwanag ni Garin.
