UMAPELA si House committee on energy chairman at Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines na ipagpaliban ang bilyun-bilyong pagtataas na ipapataw nito sa mga kustomer.
Kasabay nito ay nanawagan si Velasco sa Energy Regulatory Commission na suriin ang mga sinisingil sa mga kustomer upang masiguro na tama ang presyo nito.
“As mandated by the EPIRA, it is the ERC’s task, as the primary energy regulator of the country, to review and set allowable rates that are imposed by transmission utilities.”
Ayon kay Velasco dapat ay ipagpaliban ng NGCP ang P3.2 bilyong pagtataas na hinihingi nito ngayong taon dahil marami ang naghihirap dahil sa epekto ng coronavirus disease 2019.
“We support the appeal for NGCP to take consideration of the pandemic and difficulties presently faced by our country, and to suspend any rate increase so that our fellow Filipinos are spared further burden while coping with COVID19.”
Sa pagdinig ng House committee on good government, sinabi ng ERC na inaprubahan nito ang hinihinging P3.2 bilyong interim maximum annual revenue ng NGCP ngayong taon.
