BUKOD sa pag-aaral kaugnay ng online learning, dapat din umanong plantsahin na ng mga eskuwelahan ang pagsasagawa ng online enrollment upang malimitahan ang pagdagsa ng mga tao sa mga paaralan.
Ayon kay House Deputy Speaker at 1Pacman Rep. Mikee Romero ang online schooling ay isa sa mga alternatibo na magagamit sa School Year 2020-21.
“There is the matter of enrolling the students using online and other non-direct contact means. This can be done in schools with low enrollment, but will be quite challenging for those with high student populations. I suggest that schools resort to using mobile apps for enrollment,” ani Romero.
Sinabi ni Romero na nagiging malinaw na bahagi ng new normal ang paggamit ng makabagong teknolohiya upang maiwasan ang pagsasama-sama ng mga tao sa iisang lugar.
“For the resumption of classes, I suggest online learning modes in the cities, towns, and provinces with moderate-risk and high-risk of COVID-19 spread, but only for students who opt to,” ani Romero sa isang pahayag. “Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao should be prioritized for online learning modes because these are the highly-urbanized areas with highest student populations.”
Magiging isa umanong hamon sa pagpapatupad ng online classes ang limitasyon ng internet connectivity ng mga estudyante gayundin ang serbisyong ibinibigay ng mga telecommunication companies at ang server capacity ng mga eskuwelahan at ng DepEd.
“Students and teachers best positioned or able to access online learning are those whose internet service at home are on postpaid subscriptions. Students and teachers with prepaid access only have limited access.”
Kahit na naging libre na umano ang pag-access ng DepEd Commons online portal, may mga estudyante na ang cellphone ay text and call lamang kaya hindi rin nila ito nagagamit.
“I reject the suggestion of some that the online learning sessions be done in the computer shops. Quarantine safety regulations are unenforceable and not doable in computer shops because these establishments are crowded and have limited capacity.”
