GAGAWIN na ring temporary treatment facility ang South Harbor passenger terminal building para matugunan ang pangangailangan sa pagdadalhan ng mga pinaghihinalaang positibo sa coronavirus disease 2019.
Ito ang sinabi ng Philippine Ports Authority kasama ang Department of Transportation at Philippine Coast Guard.
Ayon kay PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago gagamitin ang donasyon ng Lopez Group of Companies para maitayo ang mga temporary health facilities.
“This became possible with the funding support of P100 million from the Lopez Group of Companies given to the DOTr, the PPA and the PCG to complete and operationalize the medical facility,” ani Santiago. “This will go hand-in-hand with the Bayanihan Quarantine vessel, which has already started to accept Overseas Filipino Workers and returning seafarers on Sunday.”
Itatayo sa Eva Macapagal Super Terminal ang 206 cubicles na hahati-hatiin sa apat na zones: green, orange, violet at blue. Ang green ang para sa mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients samantalang ang blue ay para sa advanced cases ng COVID-19.
Ang mga tauhan ng Department of Health at PCG ang tatao sa lugar upang matugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga pasyente.
Inutusan ng PPA ang lahat ng Port Management Offices na magdagdag ng mga hand washing stations.
