Container vans
IBINIGAY ng Bureau of Customs ang mga nakumpiska nitong 320 container van ng bigas at 186 container vans ng frozen goods sa Office of the Civil Defense bilang donasyon sa mga apektado ng Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Nagpasalamat naman ni House Deputy Speaker at presidential son Paolo Duterte dahil pinakinggan ng BoC ang kanyang panawagan.
“We laud the BOC for this effort, donating the seized containers of rice and frozen goods. Upon learning last week that there are seized and abandoned cargoes containing food, we took the initiative and coordinated with BOC to have it released as soon as possible. With this donation, many families will be provided with food so they could stay at home and continue observing the government imposed measures to contain the spread of COVID-19,” ani Duterte.
Sinabi ni Duterte na kung marami pang nakumpiska ang BoC ay dapat nila itong i-donate kaagad.
“We should not just let these containers rot in our ports, benefitting nobody. Our people are hungry, we should be moving fast. We are facing a crisis and time is of the essence,” dagdag pa ng solon.
