UMAPELA si Quezon City Rep. Precious Hipolito Castelo sa Department of Health na bigyan ng prayoridad sa pagkuha ng mga permanent nurse at doktor ang mga nag-boluntaryong tumulong ngayon sa paglaban sa coronavirus disease 2019.
Ayon kay Castelo maraming bakanteng posisyon ng nurse at doktor sa ilaim ng DoH at mga ospital na pinatatakbo nito.
“Instead of just giving them a daily allowance of P500, we should consider recruiting them to fill numerous vacancies in the DOH. Their willingness to take the risk and join the war against this disease is their best qualification for those jobs,” ani Castelo.
Sinabi ni Castelo na malaki na ang sahod ng mga doktor at nurse sa gobyerno.
Ang entry level pay ng doktor ay Salary Grade 21 (P59,353) samantalang ang nurse ay Salary Grade 15 (P32,053).
“Congress had included more than P3 billion in the national budget for this year for upgrading compensation for nurses in government hospitals who used to receive Salary Grade 11 pay,” ani Castelo.
Naglabas ng desisyon ang Korte Suprema para pagtataas ng sahod ng mga nurse alinsunod sa Magna Carta of Public Health Workers.
“The DOH has a number of appropriations in its P42.2-billion allocation for maintenance and other operating expenses that it can use for such consultancy services. One item is P3 billion allocated precisely for the hiring of consultants,” saad ng lady solon.
Mayroon din umanong mahigit P500 milyon ang DoH sa ilalim ng “maintenance and other operating expenses” na maaari ring gamitin na pasahod sa mga kukuning nurse at doktor.
