MAKALIPAS ang halos dalawang linggong enhanced community quarantine sa bansa, naglunsad na rin si Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach ng sariling online fundraising campaign para sa COVID-19 frontliners.
Ayon sa beauty queen-actress, updated siya sa mga nangyayari sa bansa at sa mga hinaing at reklamo ng mga Pinoy pati na ng mga frontliners.
Habang naka-stay at home, pinag-isipan ni Pia kung paano siya makakatulong habang naka-lockdown ang Metro Manila at iba pang lugar sa Pilipinas.
Sa kanyang Instagram account, ibinahagi ni Pia ang naisip niyang paraan para makapaghatid ng tulong sa mga apektado ng nangyayaring health crisis.
“So its officially week 2 of quarantine… I’d like to first say thank you to all our frontliners who put their lives at risk to serve and care for all of us. Maraming maraming salamat po,” simulang pahayag ng dalaga sa kanyang IG photo.
Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “We also know that the number of cases are still rising and that families are worried more and more about putting food on the table. Watching and hearing about it in the news everyday, it can be overwhelming.
“I’m very grateful that I am able to stay at home.. but it got me wondering.. what can I do to help? How do I make myself useful at this time? So I decided to just try something.
“I tried looking for suppliers myself, starting with medical masks. And I found a few. I placed an order of 5,000 masks to be donated to our frontliners and I received them the next day. It made me realize, kung gusto mo talaga, may paraan,” lahad pa ni Pia.
Dito, humingi rin ng tulong ang beauty queen sa kanyang followers na suportahan ang kanyang fundraising campaign.
“And then I thought, what if I had more? What if we could give more? Kulang pa ito.. And this is where I need your help, guys.
“With the help of my friends, I’ve started an online fundraising campaign to provide 25,000 medical masks to our frontliners in different hospitals around Metro Manila. I know this may not sound like alot, but it’s a start. I can’t do this alone. Tulong tulong po tayong makatulong.
