“As it is, the compromised implementation and compromised configuration of the community quarantine means that we are almost certain that an exponential growth in cases will continue. You can see how people are crowding in checkpoints and in places where people need to commute,” ani Salceda.
“According to simulations, social distancing at the most granular level – the individual and the household – is what works. You can’t do that if people are still moving around as if everything is normal. Every untested person who is moving around is a potential vector. We need people to stop being vectors. That means they have to stay still and stay home.”
“Compel with compassion. That will be the policy. In Albay, when I would forcibly evacuate people, it was my responsibility as Governor to feed, house, and even entertain the people I move.”
“Only home quarantine with work stoppage can slow down the virus to levels that our hospitals can handle,” dagdag pa ng solon. “Targeted, evidence-based, cohesive, decisive measures. That’s what we need from the most wilful administration in our history. Ang nangyayari po ngayon, maraming disparate measures over an extended period, pero kalat at maraming butas. We need a coherent, cohesive, and complete strategy.”
