SINABI ng Palasyo na masaya si Pangulong Duterte at walang nasawi sa nangyaring hostage-taking sa isang mall sa San Juan, na tumagal ng 10 oras.
Sa isang briefing, idinagdag ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na ikinatuwa ni Duterte ang naging ulat ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano kaugnay ng insidente.
“Well, he was happy that there was no casualty except for one, there is only one. And then he related what he did when he was Mayor,” sabi ni Panelo.
Kasabay nito, ipinagtanggol ni Panelo ang naging aksyon ng Philippine National Policy (PNP) at lokal na pamahalaan ng San Juan matapos naman ang mga kritisismo kung saan pinayagan pang magsagawa ng press conference ang nang-hostage na dating security guard na si Archie Paray, 31, ng Safeguard Armor Security Corporation.
Isa ang sugatan at 30 iba pa ang hinostage ni Paray sa loob ng V-Mall sa Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City noong Lunes.
“Well, I understand there have been some criticisms and General Gamboa said it was tactical. I other words, apparently the main concern is the safety of the 30 hostages. And since they survived and they are alive, I think we should welcome that,” giit ni Panelo.
Ayon pa kay Panelo, ang mahalaga ay ligtas ang lahat ng ginawang hostage.
“I do not know what transpired between the negotiator and the hostage taker. That could be one of the terms that they agreed upon for his surrender,” paliwanag nj Panelo.
“For as long as people are alive, we welcome it,” dagdag pa kay Panelo.
