Madlang pipol nagsawa na sa GGV; pero show pa rin ni Vice ang papalit

VICE GANDA

WHEREAS the phrase “ilang tulog na lang” is often associated with something that calls for a celebration, this isn’t so in the fate of Gandang Gabi Vice na ilang tulog na lang ay matutulog na rin never to wake up again.

Mas mapapaaga nga ang pagbabu ng Sunday night show ni Vice Ganda kesa sa petsa kung kailan mag-e-expire na ang franchise ng ABS-CBN, home to GGV.

Pero kung tutuusin, the program cancellation is nothing new to its main host.

Back in February, 2012, nanganib din itong mamaalam to give way to Sarah Geronimo’s show. Originally, the network gave birth to it para tumakbo lang ng isang season o katumbas ng 13 weeks.

Noon pa man, Vice was open to the fact that it’s the way things go on TV. Aware siya na magkakaroon at magkakaroon ng sawa factor ang audience.

But cheer up, mapapanood pa rin naman si Vice Ganda albeit in a show na hindi na niya solo but involving everybody. Dagdagan ito ng salitang “sing,” and you have Everybody Sing as GGV’s replacement.

Totoong nagka-set back ang GGV with its rival program The Boobay and Tekla Show. There were Sundays when TBATS would rate higher, pero hindi consistently. A la tsamba, if we may say.

We have to admit though that between the two shows, mas paglalaanan namin ng oras ang kay Vice kahit may ilang sablay sa kanyang pagpapatawa. With TBATS, parang pinilit itong maging isang panoorin sa TV when it’s better appreciated in town fiestas.
