“Stop this Sinophobia thing”.
ITO ang panawagan ni Pangulong Duterte sa harap naman ng nararanasang Sinophobia o pananaw laban sa mga Chinese national dahil sa banta ng novel coronavirus na nagsimula sa China.
“And this kind of mentioning the Chinese and blaming them, it’s like a Sinophobia. You hate anything that is Chinese. It is not good…,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang press conference sa Malacanang Lunes ng gabi.
Idinagdag ni Duterte na hindi dapat pairalin ang Sinophobia sa harap na rin ng napakaraming bilang ng mga Pinoy sa China.
“Kasi ang gusto kong masabi nila na ‘yung la — ito ngayon they are blaming the Chinese na galing sa China. It can always… How would you call this? Incubate in some other places,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
Nagmula ang coronavirus sa Wuhan, Hubei, China kung saan nakapagtala na ng daan-daang namatay at libo-libong apektado ng nCoV.
“It happened in China on — at least the first, ‘yun lang. But that is not the fault of anybody. Not of the Chinese, not of the Filipinos, not of anyone,” giit pa ni Duterte.
