NAKULANGAN kami sa aria ni Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno sa akusasyon ni Atty. Fahima Tajar, a human rights lawyer, who lambasted him sa kanyang social media account.
We were particularly hoping na sasagutin ni Mayor Isko ang post na ito ni Atty. Tajar: “For elective local government officials, Section 90 of RA 7160 (Local Government Code) governs: SEC. 90. Practice of Profession. (a) All governors, city and municipal mayors are prohibited from practicing their profession or engaging in ANY OCCUPATION other than the exercise of their functions as local chief executives.
“Anong mahirap intindihin sa ANY OCCUPATION? Dilaan mo kaya billboards mo.”
During the interview, walang diretsong pagsagot si Mayor Isko. He didn’t acknowledge the point that Atty. Tajar was raising about elected public officials na hindi dapat magkaroon ng iba pang occupation other than being public official.
Halatang napikon si Mayor Isko. He became very emotional as he dealt with the issue of being maepal.
Actually, marami ang humanga when Mayor Isko asked officials na tanggalin ang mga names and pictures nila sa mga tarpaulins para maiwasan ang pagiging maepal.
Now, it is a different case dahil naglabasan ang billboards niya sa EDSA for endorsing a certain product.
What’s laudable ay ibinibigay ni Mayor Isko ang talent fee niya sa mga charities sa bawat advertisement na kanyang nakukuha.
