That’s how it is on TV, anyway.

Una munang idinaan sa blind item ang pagkakasibak sa Sunday PinaSaya until the furor couldn’t be contained anymore.

Why it had to go raises a lot of questions. Hindi ba ito nagre-rate vis a vis its rival program? Kinasawaan na ba ng mga manonood ang inihahain nito which made it seem like a chopsuey kind of variety show? Mas gusto ba ng viewers ang may kantahan on a Sunday, a breather from what they would normally see on TV?

Whatever, pagkakataon ito nina Alden, Jose at Wally to give themselves a much-deserved rest.

ALDEN RICHARDS

Imagine, araw-araw na sila sa Eat Bulaga, from Mondays to Saturdays. Eh, kahit ang Panginoon had to rest for a day.

How these three had managed to squeeze in their leisure time ay hindi namin alam. But one thing’s for certain, their energies had been sapped.

This is in stark contrast sa tinaguriang Primetime Queen (let it stay that way, Ervin) at kay Ai Ai delas Alas who had all the time in the world to stay sitting pretty. They’re not as much busy tulad ng tatlong kalalakihan, they could even afford to enjoy foreign travels.

Partida pa nga ang ginagawa nina Jose at Wally as though they were Superman who wouldn’t suffer from physical exhaustion. May mga gabi rin kasing pinapatos nila ang pagtatanghal in some comedy bar, na sayang din naman kung hindi nila susunggaban.

Meanwhile, balik-teleserye ang Primetime Queen na may pamagat na First Yaya na parang hindi gaanong pinag-isipan reminiscent of her Super Ma’am. Well, that should make her work to deserve her network title.

The irony kasi comes pretty much obvious. Nakadikit kasi ang mga oras kung kelan umuusok ang mga TV sets in households na nakatutok sa mga programa with the most number of literally awake viewers.

Yet having no primetime show to lend credence to the title is like attaching the moniker Jukebox Queen to any of the 80s singers when the jukebox (or nickelodeon, if you may wish) is a fragment of history.
Hayun tuloy, Sentimental Diva na ang bansag kay Imelda Papin taking it from her Sentimental Songstress tag, however dropping the second word to keep apace with the changing times.
