Workplace romance dapat bang ibawal?

ISANG malaking usapin at debate ngayon sa United States kung dapat nga bang ipagbawal na ang workplace romance nang mapilitang mag-resign a few days ago ang big boss o chief executive officer (CEO) ng isang fastfood restaurant matapos madiskubre na may consensual relationship pala siya with an employee despite existing written company policy prohibiting such.

Sinasabi ng mga executives na dapat nang ipagbawal ng mga kumpanya ang workplace romance lalong lalo na between the bosses, the managers and their subordinates dahil nakakasira raw ito sa mga importanteng company decisions ng boss. Nagpo-promote by favoritism o nakakapag-encourage ng harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace.

Ganun pa man, makakatanggap ang naturang CEO ng US$675,000 severance pay and an estimated $40 million worth of separation pay including his shares of stocks with the company.

Dito sa Pinas, napakarami pang mga company ang walang written policy on workplace romance o consensual relationship sa harap ito ng napakaraming nagaganap na relationship between the boss and their employees and between the employees and their managers or among the employees themselves.
