IN this day and age of globalization and internet, many businesses tend to hire freelance workers to meet production and stay competitive.
However, there is no law that specifically cover freelance work and those working under this scheme.

Hindi rin sila covered ng batas sakaling sila ay maaksidente, magkasakit o na-disable in the course of performing their work. Hindi rin malinaw kung covered din ba sila ng 8-hour work period, overtime pay, holiday pay at iba pa.
Malaki at attractive ang bayad sa mga freelancers pero kailangan gumawa ng batas to protect them from abuses.
It is high time for the Department of Labor and Employment to create policy and regulation dahil lumalawak at lumalaki ang bilang ng freelance jobs at freelance workers dala na rin ng paglago ng internet at mobile data technology.
