SHOWBIZ personalities Ethel Booba and Jinri Park went out on social media recently and complained about the unpaid talent fees from several TV shows they appeared on. At first glance, parang hindi sila seryoso at mukhang naglalabas lang sila ng hugot.
But if we take a closer look at the issues they raised, mukhang may valid reasons sina Ethel and Jinri about exploitation, abuse, injustice and unpaid rendered work.
It’s like working in a company but you were not paid for the labor you have rendered. In such scenario, this is a serious labor case.
So how can Ethel and Jinri get compensated and get justice for themselves? I suggest they should not stop ranting on social media. They should also file a labor and or a criminal complaint against the producers of the shows who engaged them into performing particular tasks.
Sure ako na hindi lang sina Jinri at Ethel ang may reklamong gaya nito. Marami diyan ang may similar experience, artista man o ordinaryong mamamayan.
The point is: all forms of abuses and exploitation must be confronted head on
If we keep silent, nothing will happen. Abuse and exploitation will just go on and on.
So our unsolicited advice to Ethel and Jinri is to take their rant to a new level by filing a complaint and make those responsible accountable for their actions.
