BAKIT nga ba tila kakambal na ang galing at husay sa pag-awit ng ating mga Pinoy seafarers?
Sa 24th National Maritime Week na may temang “Marinong Filipino-Kababaihan: Palakasin sa Industriya,” idinaos kahapon ang Seafarers Singing Contest sa Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) sa Pasay City.
Sa pangunguna ng pangulo ng AIMS na si Arlene Paderangga, Prof. Rico Ballesteros, in charge ng naturang programa, Bantay OCW partner maritime lawyer Dennis Gorecho ng SVBB Law Office at miyembro ng organizing committee, naging matagumpay ang muling pagtuklas sa taong ito ng mga bagong talento mula sa hanay ng ating mga kadete at aktibong mga seafarers. Hinati ang naturang search sa student at seafarer divisions.
Maraming salamat kina Roderick Mendoza, head ng Student Development and Services, at Ms. Love Nufable ng Admission Department, kasama ang ilan pang magigiting na mga opisyal at mga estudyante ng AIMS na todo naman ang suporta sa naturang okasyon.
Labing apat ang mga kadeteng kalahok at 10 naman ang mga aktibong marino.
Itinanghal na kampeon si Emmanuel Alima mula sa seafarer division, 2nd si Arman Tejada at 3rd naman si Christopher Solano.
Wagi naman si Johnmelle Lloren, 2nd si Rovynn dela Olea at 3rd si Jhan Reformado para sa student division.
Nagsilbing judges sina Atty. Julius Yano at Atty. Bea Villegas Geronilla mula sa Maritime Law Association of the Philippines (MARLAW), Atty. Wendel Yetyet ng SVBB law Office, Capt. Cecilio ‘Jun’ Rahon ng Mission to Seafarers Philippines Family Network at ang inyong lingkod na kumatawan naman mula sa Inquirer Radio DZIQ 990 AM.
Nagsilbing master of ceremony si Elisabet J. Nipolo, 4th year customs administration student ng AIMS.
Congratulations sa mga nagwagi at nakikiisa ang Bantay OCW sa pagdiriwang ng ika-24 na taon ng National Seafarers Day.
