AT PRESSTIME, hindi pa sinasagot ni Bea Alonzo ang mahabang litanya ni Julia Berretto laban sa kanya, o kung may balak nga ba siyang bumuwelta with respect to the issues raised by her critic.
Ilang araw na kasi since Julia took to social media her piece lashing out at Bea who needed to defend herself, ano’ng petsa na ngayon?
Mid-80s when we shared an essay with our Literature class penned by Norman Vincent Peale. May pamagat na “How To Deal with Criticism”, mala-guide ‘yon sa kung paano dapat hina-handle ang mga batikos sa iyo.
Of the many pointers, ang pinakatumatak sa amin ay ang tip ng may-akda na, “Dignified silence is the best reply to slander” as in the case of oral brickbats levelled against you.
‘Yun nga lang, madalas hindi ito mapangatawanan ni Kris as she always has an answer to her bashers.
Going back to Peale’s essay, may tip din kasi roon na “Know your critic.”
Surely, knowing who the critic is and keeping one’s dignified silence ang siyang pinaiiral ni Bea.
To begin with, sino ba si Julia? That Julia engaged the services of a PR writer kung kaya’t magandang lumabas ‘yon?
But how would that post kaya have sounded kung si Julia mismo ang nagsulat? Tiyak na hindi ‘yon kasingganda. It’s not Julia talking in her post, but some other third person posing as the one mainly involved in the issue, so bakit nga naman dapat patulan?
Nothing can be more embarrassing to a person na inaaway mo na’t lahat ang kapwa mo, iniskandalo mo na’t tinalak-talakan in public and all but the perceived enemy hardly blinks an eye.
We could just imagine how frustrating it was for Julia na nagbayad na’t lahat ng PR writer, probably the best she thought she could ever hire, pero dinedma lang pala ang piyesa nito.
War freaks out there may take a cue from Bea.
With her strategy gone in vain, ano naman kaya ang susunod na paraan ni Julia to make Bea to want to touch her with a 10-foot pole?
