Paliwanag ni Michael Laygo sa in-email niyang komento, “I just want to inform you that when I sang and changed the three wordings in the song ‘Minahal Kita’ towards the end of the chorus (Tita Cristy, Ika’y), it wasn’t meant for anything that would merit promotion, advertisement or sponsorship or any other forms of monetary compensation, it was just meant honestly and mainly to honor and show gratitude to Nanay Cristy who has been not only a friend, a mentor, but a family to me even before I recorded the song in 1997.
“With her giving me the chance to promote my advocacy regarding TB Meningitis through my show so I can educate our fellowmen what this kind of illness is that took the life of my wife is more than enough for me to show her my appreciation.
“And for your information, I always give credit to the composer/writer of the song Mr. Michael Pascual every time I get to be asked as to who wrote the beautiful song and I also would like to extend my thanks to him for letting me sing that song.
“Hope this would merit consideration in as far as this issue is concerned. Thank you very much!”
