NAGLULUKSA ang showbiz industry sa pagpanaw ng award-winning actor-director na si Eddie Garcia. Siya ay 90 years old.
Wala pang official statement ang pamilya ng beteranong aktor tungkol sa pagkamatay ng beteranong aktor.
Pero kanina, inilabas ni Dr. Artemio Cabrera Salvador ng Makati Medical Center ang huling medical bulletin nu Manoy.
Nakasaad dito, “Mr. Eduardo ‘Eddie’ Garcia passed away today, June 20, at 4: 55 p.m.
“We join the entire Filipino community in praying for the soul of Mr. Garcia and his dearly beloved family and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to the Garcia family.”
Kung matatandaan, nitong nakaraang abado, June 8, ay naaksidente si Eddie Garcia sa taping ng upcoming GMA 7 primetime series na Rosang Agimat.
Napatid si Manoy Eddie sa isang kable habang kinukunan ang maaksyon niyang eksena na naging dahilan ng kanyang pagbagsak niya sa semento.
Wala pang resulta ang isinagawang imbestigasyon ng Kapuso Network tungkol sa kinasangkutang aksidente ng veteran actor.
Narito naman ang official statement ng GMA 7 sa pagpanaw ng aktor: “GMA Network deeply mourns the passing of veteran actor Eduardo ‘Eddie’ Verchez Garcia.
“Manoy,” as he is fondly called, will be greatly missed by his family, loved ones, co-workers, and fans.
“An accomplished and respected actor and director, he was a movie icon and an industry pillar who has touched so many lives in the Philippine entertainment industry. He left behind a legacy of professionalism, dedication, and love for his craft.
“The Kapuso Network joins his family and the whole entertainment industry in mourning his passing.”
Nagsimula ang acting career ni Manoy noong 1949. Ang unang pelikula niya ay ang “Siete Infantes de Lara”.
Nakagawa siya ng mahigit 300 pelikula at mahigit 30 teleserye sa loob ng pitong dekada niya sa showbiz.
Umabot naman sa halos 40 awards bilang aktor at direktor ang tinanggap ng yumaong aktor.
