INATASAN ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang radio personality na si Erwin Tulfo na isuko ang kanyang mga baril.
Ipinag-utos ito ng PNP isang linggo matapos tanggalan si Tulfo at kanyang mga kapatid ng police escort matapos naman ang naging banat niya sa kanyang programa sa radyo kay dating Army chief at ngayon ay Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista.
Sinabi ni PNP Spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac na napaso na ang license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) ni Tulfo noong pang Mayo.
“The PNP has ordered for the recall or temporary custody or safekeeping of the firearms of Erwin Tulfo in as much as the license to own and possess firearms of Mr Erwin Tulfo has already expired,” sabi ni Banac sa isang press conference sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Dahil sa expired na ang LTOPF ni Tulfo, wala na siyang kapangyarihang magdala ng baril kahit pa meron siyang lisensiya.
“In this case, Tulfo has the option to not surrender his guns while the renewal of his LTOPF is being processed,” sabi ni Banac.
“But he has to show that he’s working out the requirements to complete the application process. Otherwise, the CSG-FEO (Civil Security Group-FEO) may deem it proper to apply for a search warrant,” ayon pa kay Banache said.
Idinagdag ni Banac na maaari ring arestuhin si Tulfo sakaling mabigong tumupad sa utos.
