HINDI umano sincere si Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez sa alok nitong pakikipagkasundo kaya hindi ito tinanggap ni presidential daughter at Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Duterte na lingid sa kaalaman ni Alvarez mayroong nakapag-video sa pagbabanta ng dating speaker sa kanya matapos itong manalo muli sa pagkakongresista.
“I have no intention of accepting Rep. Bebot Alvarez’s offer of reconciliation because the offer was deceiving and utterly lacked sincerity. Unknown to him, he was surreptitiously videotaped when he threatened, after his win in the recent elections in Davao del Norte, “Ipapahiya ko si Sara.”
Ang alkalde ang itinuturong isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit natanggal si Alvarez bilang speaker noong Hulyo 2018 at palitan ni Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
“Alvarez was and he remains to be a very dangerous, machiavellian individual who does not deserve peace,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.
“No comment” naman ang tugon ni Alvarez nang tanungin kung ano ang reaksyon nito sa pahayag ng alkalde.
Matapos ang kanyang muling panalo, isang press statement ang inilabas ng kampo ni Alvarez kung saan ito nag-alok ng pagkakasundo-sundo.
“Now that elections are over, I offer my hand in peace to heal our deep and divisive wounds,” ani Alvarez. “Let us rally together for the cause of unity and progress in our Davao Region and our beloved country. Let us consolidate our efforts in making true change and uplift the lives of our countrymen.”
