IDINEKLARA ng Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration ngayong araw ang pagsisimula ng tag-init.
“The shift of wind direction from northeasterly to easterly over most parts of the country due to the establishment of the High Pressure Area over the Northwestern Pacific signifies the termination of the Northeast Monsoon and the start of the dry season,” saad ng pahayag na inilabas ng PAGASA.
Dahil sa pagbabagong ito, asahan na umano ang lalo pang pag-init ng panahon. Maaari rin umanong magkaroon ng pag-ulan dahil sa mataas na temperatura.
“The on-going weak El Nino affecting large areas of the country may result in prolonged dry spell and hotter air temperatures in the coming months.”
Nagpayo ang PAGASA sa publiko na gumawa ng mga hakbang pang mabawasan ang epekto ng init sa kalusugan.
