‘Pork’ katayin na

HATI ang mga mambabatas sa panukalang tanggalin na lang ang pork barrel bunsod na rin ng anomalya na nagsasangkot sa ilang senador at kongresista sa kuwestyunableng paggamit ng kanilang Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
Iminumungkahi ni Senador Franklin Drilon na tanggalin na lang ang pork barrel na mariin namang tinutulan ni Quezon City Rep. Feliciano Belmonte.
“We should seriously think about abolishing the pork barrel,” ani Drilon kaugnay sa balita na 28 senador at kongresista ang pasok sa pork barrel scam na minaniubra diumano ni Janet “Jenny” Lim-Napoles.
Hindi naman pabor si Belmonte sa panukala ni Drilon.
Sinabi ni Belmonte na may mga paraan na maaaring gawin upang matiyak na tama ang pagkakagastusan ng pondo na nakalaan sa distrito ng mga kongresista. Hindi anya kailangang buwagin ito.
“In the case of the congressmen particularly the congressmen with district there is a specific constituency. There are all sorts of things that we can do to see to it that the PDAF   100 percent goes to the benefit of the people there and to nobody else and that is definitely doable,” ani Belmonte sa press briefing kahapon.
Ayon kay Belmonte ginagawa ang PDAF upang matiyak na lahat ng lugar sa bansa ay makatitikim ng pondo ng gobyerno at walang makakaligtaan.
Kung hindi man umano tuluyang matatanggal ang pork barrel, mabuting i-institutionalize ang paggamit nito at ang pagbibigyan ng nasabing pondo.
“Maybe we can pursue reforms to limit where they can use their pork barrel,” dagdag pa ni Drilon.
Samantala, isinulong na ang isang resolusyon sa Seandor para imbestigahan ang kontrobersyal.
Sa kanyang Senate Resolution No. 40, hiniling ni Sen. Chiz Escudero sa kapulungan na imbestigahan ang ng Senate blue ribbon committee ang kontrobersiya na nagsasangkot sa limang senador at 23 kongresista.
