‘Gagaling lahat ng sakit ni Kris kung magkakadyowa uli!’

QUOTING her doctor(s), nasa ilalim si Kris Aquino sa tho-rough health evaluation aimed at managing her condition. Kung tama ang aming pagkakaintindi, she’s under medications which—in her words—are supposed to “delay the inevitable.”

Tunog-morbid kasi ang phrase na ‘yon more so with the use of the adjective na ang katumbas ay ‘di maiiwasan o ‘di mapipigilan. Mangyayari at mangyayari ang inaasahan.

Sinegundahan pa kasi ‘yon ni Kris with her hope of living her life for the next seven years, when her son Bimby will have turned 18.

We can feel where Kris is coming from. Hugot ‘yon mula sa isang ina who’d wish to grow old with her children.

By now, nasa Singapore na uli si Kris for such health evaluation. Her doctors must be among the world’s best, and for sure, the most expensive as well.

That’s the inevitable part in human existence.

Sino’ng mag-aakalang matindi pala ang nasuring sakit ni Kris? Maalaga sa kanyang kutis at katawan, sabihin na na-ting maarte na konting kibot ay big deal na.

Kumakain ng masustansiyang pagkain unlike the common tao like most of us who drool over street food na hindi natin alam kung ilang beses nang pinag-deep-fry-an ang mga tinutusuk-tusok nating fish balls o kikiam down the street.

Mukhang kahit dumating na ang taggutom sa mundo’y kahit stick nito’y hindi mo mapapahawak si Kris, much less fence her stick with the others into the bottle of sweet flavored sauce or vinegar na parang diluted merthiolate.

Pero heto si Kris na may healthy living and lifestyle, dumadaing ng iba’t ibang sakit: a type of lupus on top of all the others na kailangan mo pang i-google para malaman mo ang kahulugan in layman’s terms.

But Kris is lucky, still lucky. Mayaman kasi siya, gasino lang ang pangtustos niya sa kanyang mga gamot at gamutan.

But don’t get us wrong. Isinilang man siya already with a silver spoon in her mouth, she has worked and is still working her butt. Mayaman na nga, lalo pang yumaman.

Sad though is the trade-off. Talagang sa buhay, may bawi.

And probably one of Kris’ “don’t-haves” ay suwerte sa larangan ng pag-ibig. Again, biologically she should have one. Born on Feb. 14, the irony of ironies ay walang lalaking su-misimbolo ng pag-ibig sa buhay niya.

There were in the past, but the vaccum lurks in the present. Siguro lang (we repeat, siguro lang), her health condition might improve given the right man she loves and loves her back. Ten-fold, if need be.

Baka ‘yang lupus na ‘yan, urticarial na ‘yan, fibromyalgia na ‘yan are no match once Kris finds her heart in “good running condition” again.
