I am a teacher for seven years. I am not a perfect employee.
I am always late but I cannot accept the fact that my employer wants us to report to work two hours earlier our time. With that, we will spend almost 10 hours in work without additional pay. They would reason out that we should be grateful that we still have work. If we do not comply, they would give us memo.
For example, if we have an activity that will start at 7 AM, we need to report in school at 6:30 AM. My official time is at 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 a.m. though. After the activity, we still need to complete our official time, so, we stay in school from 6:30 a.m. up to 5:15. And we are paid for 8 hours only.
We do not receive overtime pay. This is happening from the very beginning of my service in this school.
I just want to be clarified on this matter. Thanks!
If she is employed in a private school and works beyond 8 hours, she is entitled to overtime pay for work done in excess of eight hours
Overtime pay refers to the additional pay for work performed in excess of 8 hours a day.
Plus 25% of the hourly rate for work performed in excess of 8 hours on ordinary day.
Plus 30% of the hourly rate for work performed in excess of 8 hours on rest day, special day or regular holiday.
