UMAPELA si 1-CARE Rep. Carlos Roman Uybarreta kay Pangulong Duterte na magpatupad ng price control sa mga lugar na nasalanta ng bagyong Usman.
Ayon kay Uybarreta maraming tao sa Bicol at Eastern Visayas ang hirap na makabawi matapos salantain ng bagyo bago ang pagsalubong sa Bagong Taon.
“I ask President Duterte to declare a state of calamity covering Bicol and Eastern Visayas and to order the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Interior and Local Government to implement price controls for at least six months to allow affected residents to recover,” ani Uybarreta.
Sinabi ni Uybarreta na sana ay hindi muna ipatupad ang P2 dagdag na excise tax sa bawat litro ng gasolina at diesel ngayong buwan sa mga nasalantang lugar.
“Local prices should stay at levels that they were to at least before Usman entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but the DTI should also shave off the Christmas effect on price increases when it determines the price ceilings.”
Bineberepika ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council ang ulat na umabot na sa 85 ang nasawi sa bagyo.
