WE’RE kinda baffled why Lea Salonga was bashed when she sang for the Chinese delegation during the state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Kaliwa’t kanang hate messages ang natangga ng magaling na singer, parang napakalaking kasalanan ang kanyang ginawa.
Why was she being taun-ted? Just because kumanta lang siya for the Chinese delegation? Ang feeling ba ng netizens ay binastos ni Lea ang mga Fi-lipino?
“Pansin ko lang pag kay Donald Trump daming kuda nitong si Lea pero pag sa mga Marcoses at kay Rodrigo Duterte pakanta kanta pa.”
“Pera pera lang talaga to si Lea wala pala tong paninindigan. Hehehe.”
“Kaya naman pala makatanggol kay Digong eh dahil naman pala binigyan siya ng trabaho. lol.”
“A Marcos apologist now a Duterte minion welcoming and entertaing China to whom Philippines is now under tsk tsk.”
Those were the rants against Lea sa isang popular website.
But one guy sort of defended Lea by saying, “I’ve heard other singers sing live but Lea is incomparable…a cut above the rest. My hands hurt sa kakapalakpak and my voice hoarse screaming after e-very song.
“I witnessed how Filipinos and foreigners alike stood up in admiration and respect for her. Sobrang proud moment for us Filipinos in the audience. You are one of a kind, Ms. Lea. Continue to make us proud.”
