“PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority has the responsibility of making sure locator companies follow all Philippine laws. In this particular incident involving Verde Soko, PHIVIDEC seems remiss in its duties and so it must report to Congress and to the Filipino people about its involvement or lack thereof vis-a-vis Verde Soko.”
Sinabi naman ni Misamis Oriental Rep. Juliette Uy na dapat maimbestigahan kung papaano nabigyan ng Environmental Compliance Certificate ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources ang verde Soko.
“It has to be determined why concerned government agencies allowed the importation of this garbage…..And if it is true that the said firm got an Environmental Compliance Certificate from the DENR Environmental Management Bureau, there is probably something wrong,” ani Uy.
Dumating ang basura sakay MV Affluent Ocean noong Hulyo at ibinaba sa Mindanao International Container Terminal. Ngayon ay nakatambak ito Phividec Industrial Estate.
