INAPRUBAHAN ng House committee on ways and means ang tax amnesty bill.
Ayon kay House committee on ways and means chairman Dax Cua layunin ng panukala na himukin ang mga kompanya na may pagkakautang sa buwis na magbayad.
Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang mga taxpayer na nais ng amnesty ay magbabayad ng walong porsyento ng kanilang net worth sa taong 2017, o P10,000 hanggang P10 milyon depende sa klasipikasyon ng tax payer.
Sinabi naman ni House Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu na bahagi ng amnesty ang estate tax na makatutulong sa upang mai-update ang mga rekord ng real property.
“This will promote the interest of heirs in developing inherited real properties. This will also boost the financial position of LGUs (local government units),” ani Abu.
Ayon kay House minority leader Danilo Suarez mas makabubuti sa bansa ang pagpasa ng amnesty bill kaysa sa Tax Reform for Attracting Better and High Quality Opportunities bill na dating Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion 2.
“The proposed tax amnesty measure would surely boost the financial of the government. With this, we should not give priority on the passage of TRAIN 2 or TRABAHO because if the economy is not good because of inflation, a new tax measure is definitely not bad for the people,” ani Suarez.
Sinabi ni Suarez na hindi dapat nagpapataw ng bagong buwis ang gobyerno kung hindi maganda ang ekonomiya ng bansa dahil ang tatamaan nito ay ang mga mahihirap.
Sa huling tax amnesty na ipinatupad noong 2017, sinabi ni Suarez na nakakolekta ang gobyerno ng dagdag na P5.9 bilyon.
