NAGBUNYI ang Palasyo sa desisyon ng Court of Appeals (CA) matapos naman nitong ibasura ang apela ng online news outlet na Rappler kaugnay ng pagkakabawi sa registrasyon nito ng Securities and Exchang Commission (SEC).
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na natutuwa ang Malacanang sa naging kautusan ng CA.
“The decision of the Court of Appeals affirms that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was correct to revoke Rappler’s registration based on its previous investigation,” sabi ni Roque.
Idinagdag ni Roque na nagpapatunay lamang ito na hindi ito usapin sa kalayaan sa pamamahayag bagkos ay ginagawa lamang ng SEC ang trabaho nito.
“The decision likewise supports the Palace stance that this case does not involve press freednom, but the regulatory powers of the SEC,” ayon pa kay Roque.
“We are confident that the SEC will be able to resolve the case with the same competence and objectivity as before,” giit ni Roque.
