KINILALA ni Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez ang pamumuno ni dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo bilang speaker ng Kamara de Representantes.
Sa isang press statement, sinabi ni Alvarez na pumili na ng bagong lider ang Kamara at dapat ay bumalik na sa trabaho ang Kamara.
“We cannot undo the past, but we can certainly shape our future. The House of Representatives has chosen a new Speaker in the person of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Alang-alang sa bayan, let us get back to work and move on,” ani Alvarez.
Nakuha ni Arroyo ang suporta ng 184 kongresista, mahigit sa kailangang 147 boto na kailangan upang maging Speaker.
