Tambalang KrisTek swak na swak sa pelikulang ‘I Hate You, Lover’

STAR Cinema might want to consider doing an opposite version ng ipalalabas nilang pelikula with the returning Kris Aquino as major support to the JoshLia loveteam.

Sa nakaraan kasi nitong presscon (kung saan we never got invited taliwas sa text reply sa amin ni Kane Choa, ABS-CBN CorpComm Head, that we’re still on the list of their media friends), ang mas bumangka sa cast nito ay si Kris.

Kahit ang ibinebenta sa pelikula’y ang tambalang JoshLia and the kilig factor their rumored romance brings ay hindi maaaring hindi kasahog si Kris. But what’s new?

Kris always finds an ingenious way to squeeze herself in even in topics which hardly involve her at all. As a package deal of sorts nga, isinasama niya rin ang kanyang anak na si Bimby in her promotional caper.

Kilalang fabulous gift-giver si Kris (save for one instance many years ago kung saan ang giveaway niya sa press ay pagkalaki-laking eco bag na puwedeng magkasya sina Mahal at Mura yet dadalawang piraso ng LED ang laman), but the fact that she threw an estimated cost of P1 million in freebies ay siya tuloy ang lumabas na bida more than the real bida in the movie.

Also, the fact that Kris had a grand showcase ng kanyang mga suot-suot from head to toe, she became the focal point of the presscon eclipsing the loveteam.

And yes, bago namin makalimutan, the fact that Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista’s name was dragged gayong strict presscon policy dictates na hangga’t maaari’y bawal pag-usapan ang mga bagay totally unrelated to the movie ay malinaw that Kris snatched the spotlight from a screen partnership na siya namang ipino-promote sa film.

But Kris—for all that she is and has become—manages to bend the rules.

Kay Julia na lang ay marami nang puwedeng pag-usapan: ang relasyon nila ngayon ng amang si Dennis Padilla, ang nanay niyang si Marjorie with her “open-secret” motherhood, her aunt Gretchen na tumigil na sa kawanggawa after getting bashed, etc..

Pero sa kabuuan nga ng presscon, it turned out to be much of a Kris Aquino affair highlighted by her endless, if not drab story-telling about Bistek and loving him from a distance ek-ek.

So, ano pala ang puwedeng follow-up movie ni Kris with an apt title? “I Hate You, Lover.”
