‘Asawa na lang talaga ang kulang kay Kris!’

TO SAY that the follow-through JoshLia movie will sure make a killing at the tills is like counting the chicks before the eggs get hatched.

Pero mataas ang probability na hindi naman magiging isang malaking letdown ang resulta nito sa takilya. Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s film with Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla proved a winner, after all.

‘Yun nga lang, the jitters are strongly perceived as they are felt. Ito rin kasi ang comeback vehicle ni Kris Aquino sa Star Cinema. And history tells us that before she bolted the gates of ABS-CBN, Kris’ “mistress movie” bombed at the tills.

Mukhang makaka-aggravate pa ang pagiging nega ni Kris these days. Her social media infamy might rub off—huwag naman sana—on the young loveteam.

Nakikinita na namin what the presscon would be like. For her grand return, marapat lang na grandiyoso rin ang okasyon with Kris expectedly monopolizing the open forum, hardly giving Joshua and Julia a chance to shine brightly gayong movie naman talaga nila ‘yon.

Star Cinema can’t help it. Sa tanong mismo ni Kris in her voice clip na, “Who’s sikat today?”, walang dudang siya ang sikat. No doubt, Kris has made herself famous, if not infamous.

Timing-wise, Kris is very good at it. Alam niya na kapag nade-deflect na ang public interest sa ibang bagay, meron siyang contingency measure agad. Maluluma ang weather vane sa direksiyon ng hangin sa kalikasan, Kris will always propel it to the direction she so desires.

Sadly, it’s not one of positivity gaya ng ipinalalaganap niya, but an insincere one from a person who has yet to breathe air of contentment sa sobra-sobra na ngang biyayang tinatamasa niya.

Parang si Kris lang—or tanging siya lang—ang celebrity—both male and female—who has been stripped of a hosting career na nagkaroon pa ng mas magandang fallback. Too bad—as it has always been said—katuwang sa buhay is what Kris lacks.

This emotional vaccum seems to be the root of it all. And we mean all.
