INSTEAD of taking it well, nakasama pa ang social media greeting ni James Yap sa kanyang anak na si Bimby who recently marked his birthday.
As the world knows, hindi ang mismong celebrator said a mouthful kundi ang dating asawa ni James na si Kris Aquino. Almost infinitely, paulit-ulit na ikinakatwiran ni Kris ang pakikipaglaban para sa kanyang anak—like any mother would do—lalo’t inisa-isa niya—and brace yourselves for another round of expose coming soon—ang mga kinimkim niyang sama ng loob sa tatay ni Bimby.
In giving comedic punches ay mahalaga ang timing, ayon sa mga komedyante whose knack in making people laugh has been proven effective many times over.
Hindi naman komedyante si Kris, off- and on-camera. But she sure knows what perfect timing to all this is all about.
Maaari kasi naming isipin na itinayming ni Kris ang pagsasalitang ito simply because she’s resurrecting her acting career via a Star Cinema. Hindi lang career niya sa pelikula from where she had been absent for years ang binubuhay niya, pati ang kanyang professional ties with the film arm of the TV network which booted her out.
There’s not a slightest doubt na bilang isang ina’y dapat lang niyang ipagtanggol si Bimby. If “Motherhood” were a college course in a real-life university, summa cum laude si Kris.
Kris’ presence in the Joshua Garcia-Julia Barretto movie is like a labanos (maputi kasi siya kaya ito ang ginamit ng simile) in may be likened to a sinigang.
Ang sinigang na karne o isda ang bentahe ng pagkain. Kahit wala itong labanos ay walang gaanong pagbabago sa lasa, malinamnam pa rin.
Back to James.
We smell a subtext na siyempre’y never aaminin ni Kris. But public perception is that her latest caper redounds to bitterness.
Compared to her who’s got everything, ang kulang kay Kris ay ang bagay na meron naman si James. A happy marriage. A blessed and quiet family.
Kris—even up to this point—hasn’t moved on.
Magaling siyang mag-Ingles but she has a problem with “tenses”: ang past kasi sa kanya ay present pa rin that’s why she doesn’t see the future.
