“Walang plano diyang casino-casino. Tama na iyan kasi sobra na. May casino dito, casino doon. Give it to the people who need it most. That is an announcement. It will be a land reform area. Period,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang press conference bago tumulak patungong China.
Ito’y sa harap naman ng ulat na nakabili ang Leisure & Resorts World Corporation ng 23-ektaryang lupa sa Boracay para sa pagtatayo ng $500 milyon resort at casino.
“I never said about building anything or even a nipa hut there. What I said is that island itself is owned by the government. I’ve said it before, agricultural yan pati forestal. Unless there is a law or a proclamation of the President setting aside anything there, an inch of land, maybe, then that would be all right for all those people to go in,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Idinagdag ni Duterte na ang tanging kautusan niya ay ang paglilinis ng Boracay.
“In the meantime, there’s no plan. My orders were to clean it up. So pag mag-clean, sarado. There’s one way in, one way out,” giit ni Duterte.

“If they want to build something there, they can build in a floating… unahin ko yun. Lilinisin ko lang naman, ibalik ko sa Pilipino yung lupa nila. Consider Boracay a land reform area. I will give it to the farmers, to the Filipino first. Bakit bigyan ko kayo diyan ng casino? Ano’ng makuha ng Pilipino diyan? Lahat yan. I will issue a proclamation lahat yan. Lahat, agricultural,” giit ni Duterte.
