2017 Top Filipino athletes pararangalan ngayon

MAGSASAMA-SAMA ang mga pinakamahuhusay at nagningning sa Philippine sports noong 2017 sa gaganapin na SMC-PSA (Philippine Sportswriters Association) Annual Awards Night sa Maynila Hall ng Manila Hotel ngayong gabi.

Tatlong world champion na kinabibilangan nina boxer Jerwin Ancajas, bowler Krizziah Lyn Tabora at billiards player Carlo Biado ang mangunguna sa listahan ng mga pararangalan kung saan tatanggapin nila ang PSA-Tapa King Athlete of the Year award mula sa pinakamatandang media organization ng bansa sa taunang okasyon na hatid ng MILO at Cignal TV.

Ang tubong-Panabo, Davao del Norte na si Ancajas ay nagtala ng tatlong matagumpay na depensa ng kanyang International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight title noong isang taon; si Tabora ay kinoronahan bilang women’s champion ng 53rd Qubica-AMF Bowling World Cup habang si Biado ay tinanghal na kampeon sa World 9-Ball Championships.

Ang mga pangunahing sports official ng bansa na kinabibilangan nina Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William “Butch” Ramirez, ang bagong halal na Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president na si Ricky Vargas, at ang pinalitan nito na si Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. ay inaasahan na mamumuno sa sports community ng bansa sa pagbibigay parangal sa mga top awardee at sa iba pang pararangalan na aabot sa kabuuang 105.

“On behalf of the PSA, we would like to congratulate all of our awardees. May they continue to inspire their fellow athletes in the hope of further uplifting the state of Philippine sports,” sabi ni PSA president Dodo Catacutan ng SPIN.ph.

Si Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, na isang dating sportswriter, columnist at boxing analyst bago sumalang sa pampublikong serbisyo, ang guest of honor at keynote speaker.
