Sinabi ni Castro na hindi makatwiran na hindi naibibigay ng DepEd ang kontribusyon kaya nagbabayad pa ito ng penalty at interes sa GSIS dahil otomatikong kinakaltas ang kontribusyon sa suweldo ng mga guro at iba pang tauhan nito.
“Case in point is the complaint we recently received regarding the DepEd Batangas Province Division’s failure to timely remit the premium despite having their contributions almost P1.93 million in interest. Aside from the delay, premiums for one month remain unremitted,” ani Castro.
Sinabi ni Castro na dapat tignan ng DepEd Central Office kung ano pang division office nito ang may ganitong problema.
“The law is clear but DepEd simply fails to do its task. The law also provides for a 2% interest per month for delayed remittance. The same applies to teachers’ loans from GSIS, they incur penalties and interests to be shouldered by the teachers,” dagdag pa ng lady solon.
Punto pa ni Castro kulang na ang pondo ng DepEd ay nagbabayad pa ito ng interes na maaaring naiwasan kung ginawa lamang nito ang kanilang trabaho.
