Grab nais ng P10-P13 taas pasahe dahil sa fuel excise tax

INIHAYAG ng transport network company na Grab ang plano nito na itaas ang sinisingil nitong pamasahe ng anim hanggang 10 porsiyento o P10 hanggang P13, sa harap ng implementasyon ng excise tax sa mga produktong petrolyo bilang bahagi ng bagong tax reform package.

“We will file a petition with the LTFRB (Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to request for a fare change,” sabi ni Grab Philippines head Brian Cu sa isang press conference.

Sa ilalim ng Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN), na naging epektibo noong Enero 1, magpapataw ang gobyerno ng mas mataas na excise tax sa mga sasakyan at presyo ng langis.

“Now, we are still computing the exact impact of that fare change, but we are looking at a fare increase of anywhere between 6% to 10% of current fares,” dagdag ni Cu.
Idinagdag pa ni Cu na gumagastos ang isang driver ng Grab ng P800 hanggang P1,000 kada araw para sa gasolin.a

“When we compute the average income of the driver of what he needs to make to make a sustainable to 3,200 to 3,600 in fares. Of that amount, P900 to P1,100 for fuel. That’s 20 to 22 liters,” ayon pa kay Cu.
