Sa isang briefing sa Malacanang, sinabi ni Duque na kabilang sa mga miyembro ng task force ang mga opisyal mula sa DOH Central Office at mga apektadong rehiyon, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), PhilHealth, at National Children’s Hospital.
“We at the DOH reiterate our commitment to heighten surveillance and monitoring activities on all 800,000 students vaccinated with Dengvaxia,” sabi ni Duque.
Idinagdag ni kumuha na rin ang DOH ng 30 karagdagang surveillance officers na ipapakalat sa mga ospital sa apat na rehiyon kung saan ipinamahagi ang dengue vaccine.
Kasabay nito, tiniyak ni Duque na hahabulin ang manufacturer na Sanofi Pasteur, matapos namang sabihin na ligtas ang Dengvaxia at epektibo sa mga edad siyam hanggang 45 anyos,
“We will demand the refund of the three billion paid for the Dengvaxia and that Sanofi set up an indemnification fund to cover the hospitalization and medical treatment for all children who might have severe dengue,” sabi ni Duque.
Tiniyak pa ni Roque na nakahanda ang PhilHealth na gastusan ang pagkakaospital ng mga bata na makakaranas ng severe dengue.
“PhilHealth’s dengue case rate can cover up to 16,000 for severe dengue, which includes hospitals and physician fees as well as hospital — other hospital support interventions in the management of the dengue cases,” ayon pa kay Duque.
