JANINE TUGONON

Naging First Runner Up sa Miss U 2012 si Janine Tugonon ng Pilipinas. Ginawa ito sa Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Ang tanong sa kanya ng pageant judge na si Nigel Barker: “As an international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English should be a prerequisite for Miss Universe? Why or why not?”

“For me being Miss Universe is not just about knowing how to speak a particular language, it’s about being able to influence and inspire other people. So whatever language you have as long as your heart is to serve and you have a strong mind to show to people that you could be Miss Universe.”

GLORIA DIAZ

Tanong: “In the next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him?

“Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been on the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess”.

MARGIE MORAN

Naging Miss Universe 1973 and pambato ng Pilipinas na si Margie Moran.

Tanong: “Let’s make believe that all of a sudden you have a million dollar what would be the first thing that you would buy, and why would you buy it?”

“A house and lot. Because the most expensive thing and I can’t afford it… If I have a million bucks I’ll buy a house and lot and live by myself and other people that I love.”

LARA DUTTA

Si Miss India ang itinanghal na Miss Universe noong 2000.

Tanong: Right now there is a protest going on right outside here calling the Miss Universe Pageant disrespectful of women. Convince them they are wrong.”

“I think pageants like the Miss Universe pageant gives us young women a platform to foray in the fields that we want to and forge ahead, be it entrepreneurship, be it the armed force, be it politics. It gives us a platform to voice our choices and opinions, and makes us strong, independent that we are today.”
LEILA LOPES

Nanalo noong 2011 sa Miss Universe si Leila Lopes ng Angola. Ginawa ito sa Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Tanong: “If you could change one of your physical characteristics which one would it be and why?”

“Thank God, I am very well satisfied He had created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I considered myself as a woman blessed with inner beauty. I got many great life principles from my family, and I will hold that principle for my whole life.” (translated)

MPULE KWELAGOBE

Si Miss Botswana ang nanalong Miss Universe noong 1999.

Tanong: If Miss Universe would have become pregnant during her rein, should she be allowed to continue as Miss Universe?

Personally, I think Miss Universe is a symbol of a woman as well as she is celebrating her femininity….. And I believe that if she got pregnant, it will not in any way interrupt in her duties. I believe that as a woman, she should celebrate her femininity.”

MIRIAM QUIAMBAO

Nanalong First Runner Up ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Miriam Quiambao noong 1999.

Tanong: If Miss Universe would have become pregnant during her reign, should she be allowed to continue as Miss Universe?

“That’s a very difficult situation to be in. And I believe that the Miss Universe, if ever she becomes pregnant, I believe that she should continue with her reign if she has been a good example to be a Miss Universe, she has pursued all the goals that she had in the first place and I believe that she should continue.”

SUSHMITA SEN

Miss India ang nanalo ng titulo noong 1994. Idinaos ito sa Pilipinas.

Tanong: “What for you is the essence of being a woman?”

“I think being a woman by itself. The very fact that you’re a woman is a gift of God, which all of us must appreciate. The origin of a child is a mother and is a woman. And a woman is the one who shared love and shows the man what love, caring sharing is all about.”

DAYANA MENDOZA

Si Miss Venezuela ang itinanghal na Miss Universe noong 2008. Ginawa ito sa Vietnam.

Tanong: “Do you believe men or women have an easier life?”

“God made us to share and have differences, but big differences? I don’t think so. The difference is that men think, they think that the faster way to go to a point is to go straight, and women know that the faster way to go to a point is go the curves and fix every curls.”

Tanong: “Will you change your religious belief, to marry the person you love, why or why not?

“If I have to change my religious belief, I would not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is God who created me and I have my faith my principle and it what makes me who I am and If that person loves me, he should love my God too.”
