BIG winners sina Cong. Vilma Santos-Recto at Paolo Ballesteros sa GEMS (Guild Of Educators, Mentors And Students) Awards bilang Best Actress (para sa pelikulang Everything About Her) at Best Actor (Die Beautiful).
Sina Cherry Pie Picache at Xian Lim naman ang nanalong Best Supporting Actress at Actor respectively.
Runaway winners din ang mag-inang Sylvia Sanchez (Best Actress) at Arjo Atayde (Best Actor) para sa teleserye nilang The Greatest Love at FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
May special award naman si Coco Martin sa napakahusay niyang pagganap bilang si Cardo Dalisay sa Ang Probinsyano, ang Natatanging Hiyas Ng Sining Sa Telebisyon. Best TV Series naman ang FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.
Si Zanjoe Marudo ang nanalong Best Actor by a Single Performance sa episode na “Anino” ng Maalaala Mo Kaya at Coleen Garcia naman ang hinirang na Best Actress by a Single Performance sa “Kadena” episode ng MMK.
Best News Program ang State Of The Nation (GMA News TV); Best Male News Program Anchor, Mike Enriquez (24 Oras, GMA 7); Best Female News Anchor, Jessica Soho (SONA, GMA News TV); Best Television Programs/Shows, Top 5: I-Witness (Documentary, GMA), Maalaala Mo Kaya (Drama Anthology, ABS-CBN), Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (Magazine, GMA), Eat Bulaga, (Variety, GMA), ASAP (Musical Variety, ABS-CBN).
Sa kategorya ng pelikula, nanalong Best Film (Indie) ang “Die Beautiful” mula sa The Idea First Company; Best Film (Mainstream) “Everything About Her” mula sa Star Cinema; Best Film Director (Indie), Jun Robles Lana (Die Beautiful); Best Film Director (Mainstream), Joyce Bernal (Everything About Her). Binigyan din ng Special Award bilang Natatanging Hiyas Ng Sining Sa Pinilakang Tabing si Jaclyn Jose.
Hinakot naman ng musical play na “Rak of Aegies” ang lahat ng awards sa larangan ng teatro, kabilang na ang Best Production Design, Best Playwright (Adaptation or Original), Liza Magtoto, Best Stage Play, Best Stage Director, Maribel Legarda, Best Supporting Actor, Vince Lim, Best Supporting Actress, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza, Best Actor, Pepe Herrera at Best Actress, Tanya Manalang.
Bukod sa larangan ng pelikula at telebisyon ay magbibigay din ng parangal sa larangan ng radyo at panulat ang GEMS.
Ang GEMS Awards na bagong tatag ni Mr. Norman Mauro Llaguno ng Laguna Bel-Air Science High School ay magaganap sa Marso 1, 5 p.m. sa bakuran ng Laguna BelAir Science High School sa Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
