Kumikita ng P300K gawing exempted sa income tax

Nais ng isang lider ng Kamara de Representantes na gawing exempted sa pagbabayad ng income tax ang kumikita ng P300,000 pababa kada taon.
Ayon kay House deputy speaker Miro Quimbo umaabot sa 9.4 milyon ang mga kumikita ng P300,000 pababa.
“Since the government is eyeing a radical overhaul of the income tax structure at this juncture, the government will better achieve its aspiration for social justice by giving the low to middle income earners a higher income tax exemption,” ani Quimbo.
Sinabi ni Quimbo na mula noong 1997, ang ordinaryong Filipino ang nagbabayad ng pinakamataas na tax rate sa Asya.
“With this proposal, almost 10 million taxpayers will finally be liberated from decades of suffering… It’s time to set them free!” dagdag pa ni Quimbo. “Having an annual income of P300,000 or below for a family of five is barely enough to make ends meet with food expenses, rent, and education for three children. This does not factor in emergencies,
which destabilizes their finances.”
Punto pa ni Quimbo maaaring hindi mailagay sa kategoryang mahirap ang middle income earners subalit pinagkakasya lamang nila ang natitira sa kanilang suweldo.
Sa kasalukuyan ang hindi nagbabayad ng income tax ay ang mga sumasahod ng minimum.
Upang mapunan ang mawawalang kita sa gobyerno mas tataasan naman ang buwis ng mga kumikita ng mas malaki.
