In 1984, we watched “Bagets” because of Aga Muhlach. We’re a fan but not the screaming type. We don’t collect pictures of him, we don’t have clippings.
Actually, in high school, apat kaming fans ni Aga – Abel Jimenez, Pauline Sacquilayan and Marilou Gratela.
Since may kakilala si Pauline sa BBC 2 (actually, part siya ng IBC 13) we were able to watch Aga’s show with his sister Arlene Muhlach. Nasa front seat kami. When the show was finished, we had the chance to kiss Aga and so did my three classmates.
All too suddenly, one mahaderang babae made hawi the fans and showed Aga her niece. Hinarbat kasi niya ang military belt ng actor and gave it to her niece. That woman was Lolit Solis pala.
After watching, lumabas na kami ng studio. We saw a mammoth crowd sa labas.
A few days after that, one fine Sunday, nagpunta kami sa bahay ni Aga sa New York sa Cubao.
After that, nilagnat ang classmate naming si Marilou. Sobrang na-in love yata kay Aga.
That was our recollection of our youth of which Aga was a big part of. We’re happy that he’s back sa ABS-CBN as one of the judges of Pinoy Boyband Superstar.
