Speaker pabor sa shoot-to-kill

    Walang nakikitang mali ang liderato ng Kamara de Representantes sa ‘shoot-to-kill” order ni Pangulong Duterte laban sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno na sangkot sa operasyon ng ipinagbabawal na gamot.      Ayon kay House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez hindi na rin siya nagulat sa pahayag ng pangulo na sangkot maging ang ilang kongresista sa operasyon ng iligal na droga.      “What’s wrong with shoot-to-kill order when the situation requires it, especially when the lives of our law enforces are in danger?” tanong ni Alvarez. “I expected that (list) and that is the real state of the nation.”      Sinabi naman ni House deputy speaker Raneo Abu na dapat suportahan ang kampanya ng gobyerno laban sa narco-politicians.      “The President wants to send a strong message that he is very serious in his resolve to address drugs problem in the country and we should trust him in light with the possible involvement of elected public officials,” dagdag pa ni Abu.      Umaasa naman sina Quezon City Representatives Winston Castelo at Alfred Vargas at Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers na susuko na lamang ang mga pulitikong nasa likod ng ipinagbabawal na gamot.      Pero nagpaalala si Vargas na dapat ay gawin ng naayon sa batas ang operasyon ng pulisya.      “I am with the President in war against drugs. It is only right to weed out narco-related personalities from the government,” ani Vargas. We are governed by laws to preserve order and stability in our society” in conducting anti-illegal drugs operations. As long as there’s no violation of these laws and human rights, this initiative deserves our support.”      Kinondena naman ni Ifugao Rep. Teddy Brawner Baguilat ang umano’y double standard sa anti-illegal drug campaign ng gobyerno.      “The rich and powerful are given deadlines to negotiate their surrender, are accommodated in the PNP White House, gets invited to coffee and are subject to an investigation. But the poor, the lowly drug pusher or the addict simply gets the bullet. It seems like the rules are different with the rich and the poor,” ani Baguilat.
