MAAARI nang makapaglaro sa 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games ang 16-anyos na tennis player na si Alberto Lim Jr. Ito ang ipinaalam ni Philippine Lawn Tennis (Philta) secretary general Romeo Magat kahapon sa Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) matapos makatanggap ng garantiya mula sa Internationaol Tennis Federation (ITF) na mabibigyan ng wild card entry si Lim para sa palarong gaganapin sa Brazil sa Agosto 5-21.
“AJ has been assured of a slot in the Olympics as a wild card entry,” sabi ni Magat kay PSC chairman Richie Garcia at POC president Peping Cojuangco. Bukod kay Lim, na ilang beses tinanghal na national juniors champion, maglalaro rin sa Rio Olympics sina Ian Lariba sa table tennis, Kirstie Loraine Alora sa taekwondo, Eric Shauwn Cray sa athletics, Hidilyn Diaz sa weightlifting, at boxers na sina Rogen Ladon at Charly Suarez.
Umaasa pa ang PSC at POC na madagdagdagan pa ang bilang na ito sa susunod na mga linggo.—Angelito Oredo
