SC hiniling na umaksyon sa petisyon vs K-12 program
HINILING kahapon ng mga guro, mag-aaral, mga magulang at iba’t ibang mga organisasyon sa Korte Suprema na aksyunan ang kanilang petisyon laban sa “ambisyosong” K-12 program, makalipas ang isang taon matapos kuwestiyunin ang 12-taong basic education program.
Sa isang urgent manifestation, sinabi ng Coalition of K-12, na walang katiyakan na hindi liliit ang sweldo ng mga guro o hindi sila mawawalan ng trabaho sakaling ilipat ang ibang guro sa senior high school. Ang mga Coalition of K-12 ay kinabibilingan ng Council of Teachers and Staff of College and Universities of the Philippines (CoTeSCUP).
“These are contrary to the rights to security of tenure and academic freedom of HEI faculty members. These are also contrary to the principle of non-diminution of benefits in Article 100 of the Labor Code. These also violate the HEI faculty members’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining,” sabi ng mga petitioner.
