Mar Roxas isinasangkot ni Vitangcol sa kaso tungkol sa MRT

INAKUSAHAN ni dating Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 general manager Al Vitangcol ang pambato ng administrasyon na si Mar Roxas at Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya ng pagmamanipula sa maintenance ng MRT na nagresulta sa masamang serbisyo nito.

“I am the only DOTC official charged by the Ombudsman despite the unmistakable knowledge, involvement, participation and instruction of my superiors in the DOTC headed by former Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas, current DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Atty. Jose Perpetuo Lotilla and Undersecretary Rene Limcaoco,” sabi ni Vitangcol sa kanyang affidavit sa Korte Suprema.

Sinabi ni Vitangcol na nalaman niya na mapapaso na ang maintenance agreement sa Sumitomo Corporation noong Oktubre 19, 2012, kayat sinulayan niya si Roxas.

Aniya, matapos hindi makakuha ng sagot kay Roxas sinulatan naman niya si Abaya.

“These issues were never addressed promptly—which, as I warned, caused future operational problems at MRT3,” aniya.

Idinagdag ni Vitangcol na si Abaya ang pumirma sa kontrata na pinasok sa PH Trams.

“I did not play any role in the formulation of that decision because as General Manager of the MRT-3, I have neither the power nor the authority to approve and award projects amounting to more than P5-million,” dagdag ni Vitangcol.

Aniya, dalawang beses na pinalawig ng DOTC ang kontrata sa PH Trams na nagkakahalaga ng $12.170-milyon o P535.5-milyon. Inquirer.net
