“Hi everyone! I would like to invite all of you to attend the Congressional hearing regarding the disqualification of Honor Thy Father at the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival 2015,” ayon sa post ng direktor sa kanyang social media account.
Dagdag pa nito, “This is not about Honor Thy Father. The hearing is actually about our film industry. This is about affecting change in the long running disappointment regarding the yearly MMFF event.
And hopefully the outcome of this trickles down beyond the festival and into the entire film industry. “To those who care to do something about the MMFF, I urge your presence to show your support.
“We have always wanted to find an avenue to air our grievances about the anomalies in the festival, the unfair distribution practices in theater bookings and the abuse of power by the handful who presume we are too dumb and too terrified to speak up. I think this is our opportunity.
“Whether or not something will come out of this is beside the point. I think it is enough that this time we will be heard,” sabi pa ng direktor.
