Sereno sinabing hindi na konektado ang asawa sa developer ng Torre de Manila
Sinabi kahapon ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno na hindi na konektado ang kanyang asawa sa developer ng Torre de Manila matapos namang kuwestiyunin ang kanyang pagiging patas sa paghawak sa kaso.
Sa isang pahayag ng Supreme Court Public Information Office, inamin ni Sereno na dating nagtatrabaho ang kanyang asawang si Mario Jose Sereno sa Dacon Corporation, na pag-aari ng Consunji Corporation bagamat nagbitiw na mula sa kumpanya 26 taon na ang nakakaraan o noong Hulyo 1989.
Pag-aari ng pamilya Consunji, ang DMCI Homes, ang developer ng Torre de Manila.
“Sereno is mindful of the procedures for causing the voluntary inhibition of any judge or Justice from any pending matter,” sabi ni SC Information Chief Theodore Te.
Nauna nang lumabas na tutol si Sereno sa inilabas na temporary restraining order (TRO) ng Korte Suprema laban sa isinasagawang konstruksyon ng Torre de Manila, na tinaguriang pambansang photo bomber ng Monumento ni Rizal sa Luneta.
